What is an inspection report?

The state of CA requires all OS/OW special purpose units to be inspected and approved before they can be permitted for use on CA roadways. The state grants this permission by issuing an "inspection report" to each unit after carefully reviewing the special purpose units' configuration. This inspection might be done in person (state official schedules a meeting where they physically look the unit over) or, more commonly, the state will grant the inspection over the phone.
